I was asking the Lord for the sermon to preach on Sunday and
He showed me a vision. I saw a hand holding the handle of a big basket. The basket is full of
fresh live fish. The fish are to be given as gifts.
And the Lord said, “A time of harvest has begun. But it
will be a harvest without toiling if you know how to receive. There’s going to
be a harvest of souls, a harvest of talents and a harvest of wealth. My people
just need to learn to receive from Me.”
Have
dominion over fish?
With a Chinese education background,
I know that fish is an important dish especially during Chinese New Year.
Reason being, the word fish ‘魚,鱼 (Yú)’ has the same pronunciation as surplus ‘餘 ,余 (Yú)’
in Chinese. Every year during the family reunion dinner, we would say ‘nián nián yŏu yú 年年有魚 =年年有餘’before
digging our chopsticks into the fish dish. It is a proclamation that we will
have more than enough food and finance every year.
Therefore, when I learnt the meaning
of fish in Hebrew, it amazed me! Fish is ‘dâgâh’ in Hebrew. It also carries the
meaning to move rapidly, or to spawn (produce eggs/offspring of
fish), i.e. become numerous/ grow.
The first Bible verse ever that mentions
about fish is in Genesis 1:28 (NKJV), “Then
God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the
earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the
birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on earth.”
So, what
does it really mean to have dominion over fish? It has greater meanings than
just catching them, rearing them, selling them, or eating them, if you know the
revelation in the word ‘fish’.
Have dominion over rapid movements
The world
changes rapidly every day. We have new buildings rising up, new technologies,
new machineries, new gadgets, new ideas, new methodologies, and new approaches
to handling things day by day. If you have been working in the same field with
outdated methods the past many years without much improvement, or you have been
out of touch and finding it hard to catch up with the younger generation, or
you have been stagnant in your position and you feel the insecurity and threat
to be replaced by younger people, this revelation is for you! When you have
dominion over rapid movements/changes, you are always at the cutting-edge!
Have dominion over growth
This revelation
is for those who have been working hard without seeing much result in career,
business or ministry. It is also for married couples who wish to have offspring/baby.
When you have dominion over growth, you will always be blessed with good results
in everything you do.
How to have dominion over rapid
movements and growth?
First, know the heart of your Father
God. Know that He is the greatest Giver. He is the One who is going to give you
the ‘fish’. Then, ask Him. Ask for what? Ask
for the help of the Holy Spirit!
Luke 11:11, 13(NKJV) – “If a son asks for bread from any father among
you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a
serpent instead of a fish?... If you
then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more
will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Why the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit
is your best personal teacher, consultant, friend, and pillar of strength. He
is the Spirit of the Alpha and the Omega God who sees the past and the future. He is never outdated! He will teach you
and guide you to keep up with the new. (See John 14:26; John 16:13-15; 1 John
2:20, 27)
The Holy
Spirit is also your only link to the
anointing and power God. He gives you the talents and spiritual gifts you
will need to achieve results. He is able to bring people with talents and
spiritual gifts to assist you too. (See 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, 28)
Whether your
vocation is in the spiritual ministry, in the service industry, in the
corporate world, or in the political arena, the Holy Spirit
is the key to a great harvest of souls, talents and wealth. He is the key to a
harvest without toiling!
How to co-operate with the Holy
Spirit?
Firstly, be
baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in spiritual tongues.
Secondly, build
your spirit man to be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit by praying in
tongues every day.
Lastly,
listen for instruction every time you talk to the Lord. Learn to obey every
little instruction from Him. As it is said, practice makes perfect. Every small
action of obedience helps you to be more familiar with His voice.
Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered
Him, “No.” And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat,
and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw
it in because of the multitude of fish. (John 21:5-6 NKJV)
When you have learned to listen to the instructions of the Lord through
His Spirit, you will always put your hands to do the ‘right’ thing, at the ‘right’
time, and at the ‘right’ place. As a result, you see ‘results’!
A
harvesting net that will not break
Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one
hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not
broken. (John 21:11 NKJV)
The Lord knows your capacity and
your capability. If He gives beyond your own ability to handle, He will give
you the grace to contain the people, the gifts, and the wealth. And no
matter how old you have grown, you will never have to be the ‘old guard’ that
is to be replaced with ‘young shoots’. With the Holy Spirit guiding you, you
will always have your niche and be at the cutting-edge as long as you live!
